Resuscitation and Mandatory Training


Basic Life Support

 

This mandatory training compliant course is aimed at all grades of both healthcare and non-healthcare professionals and equips you with the vital skills to perform basic life support to a person in cardiac arrest.

Course content:

  • Adult BLS
  • Paediatric Modifications
  • Automated External Defibrillation
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Choking

The course is tailored to your specification and audience requirements thus duration is variable (typically 1-3 hours). Additional modules can be tailored into this session – please contact us to discuss your needs.

All manikins are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and provide visual real-time CPR feedback to allow delegates to optimise their skills.

Paediatric Basic Life Support

This mandatory training compliant course is aimed at all grades of both healthcare and non-healthcare professionals and equips you with the vital skills to perform basic life support to a child in cardiac arrest.

Course content:

  • Paediatric BLS
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Choking

The course is tailored to your specification and audience requirements thus duration is variable (typically 1-3 hours). Additional modules can be tailored into this session if required.

 


Intermediate Life Support

This popular course is aimed at healthcare professionals and teaches more advanced techniques such as airway management and recognition and management of the unwell patient. Although the course has a core curriculum, it can be tailored to your own requirements, focusing on specific conditions you may experience.

Course content:

  • Adult Basic Life Support
  • Automated External Defibrillation (manual defibrillation available as an option)
  • Recognition of the sick patient utilising ABCDE assessment
  • Management of common conditions (can include cardiac, neurological, respiratory, sepsis, trauma emergencies)
  • Airway management
  • Non-technical skills

The course is held over 1 day. A half-day update course is available which is recommended every 12 months.

This course is not Resuscitation Council (UK) accredited but follows the 2021 RC(UK) guidelines. An RC(UK) accredited ILS course is available on request.

Paediatric Immediate Life Support

This course is aimed at healthcare professionals who may deal with unwell children and teaches more advanced techniques such as airway management and recognition and management of the unwell child from infancy to puberty. Although the course has a core curriculum, it can be tailored to your own requirements, focusing on specific conditions you may experience.

Course content:

  • Paediatric Basic Life Support
  • Defibrillation in children
  • Recognition of the sick child utilising ABCDE assessment
  • Management of common conditions (can include respiratory, neurological, respiratory, sepsis, trauma and cardiac emergencies)
  • Airway management
  • Non-technical skills

The course is held over 1 day. A half-day update course is available which is recommended every 12 months.

Hospital Life Support (Adult)

 

This hospital-mandatory training compliant course is aimed at all grades of healthcare professionals working in a hospital environment and equips you not only with the vital skills to perform basic life support to a person in cardiac arrest but to recognise common signs of deterioration, anaphylaxis and sepsis. Ideal for agency and temporary staff.

Course content:

  • Adult BLS
  • Paediatric Modifications
  • Automated External Defibrillation
  • Choking
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Basic recognition of the sick patient
  • Sepsis recognition and management
  • Do Not Attempt CPR awareness

This course lasts 2.5 hours and is CPD Certified.

Additional modules can be tailored into this session – please contact us to discuss your needs.

This course can be delivered on site or at our office in Wolverhampton.

Basic Life Support Instructor Course

Teaching a life-saving skill can be a very rewarding and satisfying experience.

On this course candidates will learn a variety of skills and techniques to enable them to deliver an effective and comprehensive training session.

Course content:

  • Equipment selection and maintenance
  • Effective teaching methods and skills
  • Psychomotor skills teaching
  • Presentation skills
  • Dealing with questions
  • Facilitating practical elements
  • Dealing with poor performance and remedial strategies

This is a half-day course and candidates will leave with a course pack and post-course reflection workbook to develop their teaching skills.

No experience is necessary as all content will be covered on the course however previous attendance or knowledge of basic life support will be advantageous.


Manual Handling

This mandatory training compliant course is aimed at all grades of healthcare professionals and equips you with the core theoretical and practical skills to perform safer handling of people and loads. Content will cover:

  • Theory and Law
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Safer Handling Techniques
  • Basic Risk Assessment
  • Practical Workshop

The course is tailored to your specification and audience requirements thus duration is variable (typically 2-3 hours for an update and 1-day for a full course). Additional modules can be tailored into this session – please contact us to discuss your needs. Although we are able to provide equipment, we prefer to train using your own equipment to ensure your staff are familiar with it.
